Chemical Grouts

We utilize hydrophilic, hydrophobic, single, and multiple component grouts based on project mandates. Water ingress in GPM (gallons per minute) often plays a role in product selection, set times, low VOC (volatile organic compound), confined space, exothermal reactions, load-bearing capacities, GPR or utility survey, are a few pre-site assessments that should be done before the commencement of your project. These groups are made up the following acrylamide, acrylate, sodium silicate, colloidal silica, and urethanes. 

Curtain Grouting and Undersealing

We can resolve issues on the positive side, or exterior, that allow water infiltration through to the negative side, or interior, of a leaking structure. The application is done on a grid from the positive side or by probe grouting from the above grade adjacent to the subject problem. 

Slab Lifting or Mudjacking

Undermined soils below a concrete slab often are the source of a long list of sinking, cracking, or heaving in concrete slabs and toppings. A process in which typically low mobility cementitious grout or urethane grout fill occupies the void, or poorly consolidated underlying geological state, of rock or soil that supports the overburden load on a concrete slab, foundation, roadway, railroad track, runway or other structure. Once the ground improvements are made via grouting the subject is lifted hydraulically into its proper grade.

Soil Strengthening

Chemical and cementitious grouts can be used permeate, adhere, compact, and displace water to improve on soil conditions. This process improves its overburden capabilities based on the structure’s needs or project dynamics.

Slab Lifting or Mudjacking

Sub-Grade Waterproofing

Chemical grouts greatly assist in the construction of structures below the water table helping to keep the groundwater out reducing water infiltration. This application can be applied to produce a safer and more efficient project in many industries settings. RSR is qualified to mitigate leaks or undermining in the following: stormwater, wastewater, lift stations, box culverts, energy vaults, tunnels, manholes, seawalls, swimming pools, and bascule pits, to name a few.

Void Fill Grouting

Underground voids can cause dangerous sudden ground collapse, compromising infrastructure, and imposing structural damage where ever the overburden lays. Polyurethane foams and lightweight low-density cellular concrete both have their advantages. The common placement of these products are: bridge abutments, annular space in pipes, culverts, tunnels, conduit, pipe abandonment, mine abandonment, vaults, sinkholes, and any other compromised sub-grade structure.

Water-Stop and Leak Sealing

Polyurethane, acrylic, acrylamide, sodium silicate, colloidal silica, cementitious grouts are all used as applications in cutting off water intrusion. While the products vary in techniques, the principal of using positive pressure into a defect (crack, void, and undermining or deterioration) of rock, soil, or structure remains fairly similar. We remediate the deficiency with a product that has an adjustable set time of a chemical grout via foam, gel, or microfine grout to cut water intrusion. These applications are often used to stop leaks in underground parking structures, basements, tunnels, elevator pits, seawalls, dams, locks, bascule pits, chemical containment, below-grade excavations, pool decks, stormwater infiltration, concrete expansion or contracting joints, and other poorly consolidated mediums.
